Decatur Plastic Products (DPP), headquartered in North Vernon, IN, recently purchased an existing 33,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Gadsden, AL. This acquisition expands operations in Gadsden where DPP already operates a flocking facility, built new in 2004.
The newly-acquired manufacturing location allows for growth in the Southeast, extending DPP’s services to injection molding, assembly and other secondary operations. The close proximity to DPP’s existing flocking facility, within one mile, provides for numerous opportunities to enhance service for new and existing customers in this region.
No specific timetable for production ramp up has been set at this time for the newly- acquired facility. Once production is established, staffing levels could approach 25-50 employees depending upon the number of shifts and production volume required.
DPP founded in 1983 is a full-service custom manufacturer of plastic injection molded and flocked interior components and assemblies primarily serving the automotive industry, but serves other markets as well. DPP is ISO 9001 certified and produces products for most major automotive OEMs.
